The Voramar Street Jazz Festival is not a single big concert but a series of small sets spread across different streets and squares of the town, which means you walk into it rather than buy a ticket for it.
That format is the appeal. Nothing needs booking, the sets are short, and the setting is a terrace or a square rather than a stage with barriers. It fits around a normal holiday day: swim, eat late, wander into the centre and find a band playing.
It also fills a gap in the calendar. August on this coast is otherwise gunpowder and processions, and this is the one thing running for a whole month that asks nothing of you. Locations and line-up are published by the town hall shortly beforehand, so check which squares are hosting on the night you go.
